National Identity Card (NIC) is issued to the citizens of Pakistan. The unique 13 digit identification number is recognized all over the country. It is the first requirement of individuals as it is mandatory for getting your right to vote and; to obtain documents like license, NTN, bank account, passport, cellular connection etc. Every citizen of Pakistan, 18 years and above, is eligible for NIC.

One cannot exercise basic right of vote, contesting in elections and getting benefits from the government (jobs, health card and benefits from EHSAS Program) unless the person has valid NIC card issued by National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA).

Process of Getting CNIC

You can apply for your NIC by either visiting NADRA Registration Center (NRC) or through Pak Identity website https://id.nadra.gov.pk/

You will undergo the following steps at NRC for processing of your application:

  • You will be issued a token
  • You will be required to submit fee in fee counter at the branch
  • Your photograph will be captured
  • Your fingerprints and signature will be taken
  • Your required data entry will be done and form will be printed to be reviewed by yourself
  • You will be handed over a printed version of your application form
  • Submit this form after confirming the printed information and attestation by a gazetted officer.

Important Note: Bring any of your blood relative (father/mother/brother/sister/son/daughter) and skip the attestation of the form by providing their biometrics at NRC.

Online Process of getting NIC by visiting Pak Identity website

You can apply for your Smart National Identity Card (SNIC) by visiting Pak Identity website and have it delivered to your doorstep. Please note that you cannot apply for fresh/new CNIC from the website. You can only get renewed and modified NIC from the online process.

The Pak-Identity website allows you to easily acquire your National ID in 3 simple steps:

  • STEP 1: Registration

Register an account on the Pak-Identity web application. You can access it using the Apply Now button on the homepage. You need to give a valid mobile number and email address for account verification.

  • STEP 2: Fee Submission

Depending on your application category, you will be asked to pay your fee at either the start or the end of the application (varies between application types). We accept all major Credit & Debit Cards.

  • STEP 3: Online Application

Complete your application and make sure all provided information is correct. Upload your photograph, fingerprints and supporting documents. Instructions on how to upload documents are available on the homepage under each application category.
And you are done!
Your Application will be processed by NADRA and the ID Card shall be delivered at your address. You may be contacted in case any further information is required.
