The politics in Pakistan is dominated by males and there exist few opportunities for women to develop, enhance and demonstrate their political acumen and leadership abilities. There does not exist any platform or academy in Pakistan, where women could get political education and training for entering into the arena of politics with full confidence and skills to make their mark.
The vision of peaceful and democratic society or inclusive governance cannot be fulfilled without the realization of underlying principles of justice and gender equality. Keeping in view the need to facilitate women participation in the political/ electoral process; to create a critical mass of trained young women that are ready to take up leadership role at different tiers; and to fill the leadership void existing at local, provincial and national political landscape, more than, 100 young women leaders undergone “Beginner” and “Intermediate” level of training.
During these training sessions, women were imparted basic leadership knowledge and equipped to implement their ideas about women empowerment and prepare action plans individually or in groups, especially for women NIC and voter registration. They were also equipped with necessary knowledge and tools to play a constructive role in politics at all levels and provide leadership to various segments of the society in the matters of governance.
