The terms of the National and provincial assemblies in Pakistan are five years. The General Elections are held upon the expiry of the term of the National and provincial assemblies. The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) conducts the General Election. The election for the National Assembly and all four provincial assemblies are held on the same day. The ECP issues results after the counting process is complete.
