KARACHI: The Sindh government has decided to form a Rapid Deployment Force to handle trouble spots and also to launch an operation against history-sheeters, criminals, miscreants and absconders from Thursday to ensure peaceful conduct of local government polls.

FAISALABAD: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has directed the Faisalabad District Returning Officer (DRO), the DCO and the city police officer (CPO) to prepare a fact finding report on violations of its elections code of conduct by State Minister for Water and Power Abid Sher Ali, his father Chaudhary Sher Ali and MPA Mian Tahir Jameel. The officers have been asked to present the report in Islamabad on November 4.

ISLAMABAD: Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has announced that the local government elections that were postponed in 79 union councils of 12 districts in Punjab will be held on 19th November, ARY News reports.

ISLAMABAD: November 9 is less than a week away when the Election Commission of Pakistan is to allot symbols to the candidates of various political parties, however, the ECP seems far from fulfilling the formalities. So far it has failed to contact some 30 political parties registered with the commission.
