KARACHI: The Sindh High Court ruled on Tuesday that areas of union councils which were rural and merged into any urban union councils or vice versa through delimitations in violation of high court and Supreme Court directives are of no legal effect, and ordered revised lists be issued after the reversal of such changes in 24 hours.

ISLAMABAD: PTI leader Asad Umer Monday said they had constituted a special committee to keep an eye on involvement of SHOs or patwaris in the election campaign for upcoming local bodies’ elections but so far they had found no such activity in the capital city.
Sindh Home Department Monday issued a notification, suspending licenses of weapons in 15 districts of the province ahead of second phase of the local government elections. The ban has been imposed under section 144 from November 19 to 28. However, the move will not affect security forces, police, Rangers and security guards of private companies. The Home Department has also suspended permits to carry weapons.
