This is manuscript written by Gulmina Bilal that explicates the different sides of the current change in percentage of women quota in politics in Pakistan’s context. It explores that allocation of women quota in politics is though a good step, however it is not really an empowerment measure because often women representation in parliament and local government was found a praxis of male representation. Therefore, the paper stresses the need to adopt necessary strategies need to be followed for women engagement. These approaches should be based on providing equal opportunity of electoral participation, positive or affirmative action as is taken and political education.
