Islamabad, the 13th October 2015.- The Hon’ble Chief Election Commissioner of Pakistan, Justice Sardar Muhammad Raza Khan has written a letter to the Chief of Army Staff, General Raheel Sharif expressing his profound gratitude at the conclusion of the tensely contested bye-elections in the Punjab Province held on 11th October 2015. It has written in the letter that after agreeing to the requisition of the troops, the Pakistan Army assisted to the Election Commission of Pakistan in fulfilling its constitutional obligation to hold honest, just and fair elections in an effective manner.

Expressing his pleasure over the well-organized performance of Pakistan Army, the Hon’ble CEC has added that the way the Army Officers and the Jawans came out with flying colours in the conduct of bye-polls is, no doubt, a matter of great satisfaction for the ECP and the whole nation. Furthermore, there is no denying the fact that professionalism and devotion to duty is the hallmark of the Pakistan Army and of course it is an apt reflection of the institution and its courageous leadership. The Hon’ble CEC has, therefore, asked the Army Chief to convey his heartfelt feelings to the office of the DG MO and all the concerned formations for making foolproof arrangements. He has also prayed for the success of Pakistan Army and Army Chief in all endeavors and victory against all challenges
