ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court yesterday deferred the hearing of eight petitions moved by Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf and others against the delimitation and the upcoming local government elections in the federal capital.

As many as 1,500 government officers on Thursday refused to perform duties assigned by concerned departments in the upcoming local bodies election in Faisalabad. The district government has sought a complete report along with a list of employees from the department and has directed the authorities to launch an investigation into the matter.
