ANP, a Pakhtun nationalist party, is a strong advocate of provincial autonomy. It consistently campaigned for the renaming of the erstwhile NWFP as Pakhtunkhwa and was successful in achieving the objective in 2010. The party adheres to the non-violent principles of the Kudai Khidmatgar movement of the 1930s. It pursues liberal, progressive policies with emphasis on tolerance and human rights. ANP favours improvement of relations with neighbors Afghanistan and India. |
